Grey Raven Art Gallery Ribbon Cutting
Event Date: March 3, 2023
The Beaverton Chamber of Commerce, the City of Hillsboro and a variety of local city and county leaders attended the Grey Raven Gallery Ribbon Cutting on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the new location for Grey Raven Gallery at 12695 SW Crescent Street, Space 150 in Beaverton. More than 75 people attended the ribbon cutting, including a number of the artists and their families. Artists Joan Callaway, Laura Hopper, Michael Pedamonte, Carolyn Pettit, Natalie Warrens and Kelly Yeats Hoover were there to discuss their work.
Gallery co-owners Barbara Mason and Martin Conley were also joined by Beaverton Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Alicia Bermes, Beaverton Chamber Board Member Georgie Funk and Beaverton City Counselor Nadia Hasan, as well as Hillsboro Mayor Steve Callaway.
The initial exhibition was curated by Barbara Mason, an internationally known artist and printmaker. Mason has served as the President of the Board of Print Arts Northwest and the director of Waterstone Gallery, an artist-owned gallery, in Portland, OR. Her partner in the venture, Martin Conley, is a well-known wood sculptor, painter and community arts advocate with work in several galleries on the coast and to the south.
“Creativity is all around us; the more we nurture it, the better our world will become. Your support of this gallery not only supports local artists in your community, but the work of Golden Road Arts,” says Mason. “Your support and donations help directly fund our efforts to give art opportunities to children.” Golden Road Arts is a local 501(c)(3) that provides free art outreach, art events and opportunities to local schools and the community.
