Fall has arrived and brings with it the much-anticipated annual Washington County Open Studios Tour. This year, Grey Raven Gallery proudly features several participating artists in its October exhibition. Among the highlights are works from Heather John and Denise Hershey, both talented jewelers, along with gallery founders Barbara Mason and Martin Conley.

Hosted by the Washington County Art Alliance, the Washington County Open Studios Tour has been a community favorite since its founding in 2010. What began as a small group of 17 local artists has flourished into a vibrant network of over 200 members, with participating studios extending across Gaston, Sherwood and Beaverton.
This year’s tour takes place on October 19th and 20th (from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), and Grey Raven Gallery is one of five participating art galleries. It’s a unique opportunity to meet local artists and explore their creative spaces, and of course, support our region’s thriving arts community.
In addition to the gallery’s featured exhibition, Grey Raven will also host a special event during the Open Studios Tour. Renowned artist Erik Sandgren, whose work is currently on display at Maryhill Museum through November 15th, will provide a live painting demonstration on both days from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. This is a fantastic opportunity to witness an artist in action and gain insight into the creative process.
