When I tell people I am an artist they often ask, “What do you paint?”, I usually begin by saying I am a watercolorist, but in reality, I also enjoy using acrylics or alcohol inks. Subjects for my paintings have an even wider range. I have always enjoyed painting flowers and animals, especially giraffes and turtles, but in recent years I have done more people paintings. I was trained to use watercolor in the traditional way, but today I enjoy “breaking the rules” to experiment with different techniques and materials. It thrills me to hear people say my paintings make them feel happy.
