Join us in the gallery and online for Erik’s demo on Friday, May 9! We are fortunate that Erik Sandgren has the bandwidth to appear in two exhibits in Washington State during May AND provide us with artwork and a demo in May at Grey Raven Gallery. To say Erik is prolific is an understatement, and the breadth of his current work – which he includes under an encompassing title of “The Deep Northwest”– is an exploration of the Northwest and its beauty, complexity and history. The Grey Raven Gallery May exhibit – which we subtitled “Out and About in Oregon” could easily have just been out and about, as Erik will have been painting along the Columbia Gorge in late April for an exhibit at Maryhill Museum and will be included in a far reaching exhibit of his work at Pierce College/Steilacoom near Tacoma in May and June.
The work Grey Raven Gallery will exhibit will be in a variety of sizes and depicts diverse landforms, shores and outbuildings that influenced Erik during his travels. Erik’s demo on May 9 at Grey Raven from 5-8 pm will feature “starts and development” on paintings in both watercolor and acrylic. The program will also be simulcast from the Gallery on a variety of channels including YouTube and Facebook.
